Abstract
COVID-19 forced communities to displace physical interactions with more digital ones to be able to navigate a new pandemic reality. Community-driven AI is made possible by a Metaverse that can doubtless generate useful and interactive AI for patients willing to share their medical data. The promise of the Metaverse of medical data is that it can be used to measure, control for, and reduce existing disparities in outcomes of the current health system. Building a community-driven platform for patients to share their medical data will combat health information blocking by electronic health records developers and data administrators to allow patients to directly share that information with scientists and researchers. The Metaverse of medical data, therefore, may represent one of the best chances to develop community-driven AI that can be trained to eventually reduce disparities in disease outcomes.
