Abstract
AIが社会に膾炙するようになるにつれ，裁判においてAIを用いることの是非を問う議論も増えつつある．このことを背景に，本研究は，（1）裁判においてAIを使用することを市民はどの程度支持するのか，（2）支持はどのような要因によって規定されるのかを検討した．783名を対象に質問紙調査を行いその回答を分析した結果，以下の2点が示された．（1）支持の得点は理論的中点を下回っていたことから，多くの回答者はAI使用を積極的には支持していない．（2）裁判におけるAI使用への支持は，AIは機械的な処理しかできず，人間のような「温かみ」のある判決はできないというイメージ（「非人間的イメージ」）およびAIを用いると裁判過程が不透明になるというイメージ（「不透明イメージ」）と負の関連を示した一方，AIを用いることで人間の裁判官よりも公平かつ偏りのない裁判ができるというイメージ（「公平イメージ」）と正の関連を示した．
