(Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2023;388:1981–1990) Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasing role in many aspects of business and health care, including in the interpretation of medical images. This article is a review and discussion about the progress, challenges, and opportunities associated with AI in assisting radiologists and other medical professionals, in addition to risks associated with AI interpretation of images.
