Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is starting to increase the field of medicine and modern medical technologies are preferred to use AI-based applications providing professional assistants for diagnostics, nursing, and administration in the healthcare sector. AI-based techniques may be investigated into two categories: clinical and non-clinical. AI is used in clinical applications when it comes to tasks that directly involve the care or treatment of patients. These applications mainly aim to increase the precision and effectiveness of clinical diagnosis, therapy, and decision-making. On the other hand, the utilization of AI technology in fields that do not directly involve patient care or treatment is referred to as non-clinical applications of AI. The improvement of healthcare organizations’ administrative and operational functions is the primary focus of these applications. AI applications in healthcare, both clinical and non-clinical, have the potential to improve care quality, reduce costs, and increase organizational efficiency. This chapter explores the non-clinical applications of AI in medicine and highlights its transformative effect on predictive analysis, health monitoring, and health management. We also provide artificial intelligence methods focusing on metaheuristic approaches in non-clinical approaches.
