Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly influenced many fields, including kidney disease research. This study used bibliometric analysis to explore the current research trends on COVID-19 and kidney disease, analyzing 3684 papers from the Web of Science Core Collection. The findings reveal a rapid increase in publications, primarily led by the United States, with strong collaboration between North American and European countries, whereas China, despite numerous publications, has limited international collaboration. Notable institutions from the UK, France, and the US dominate the field. Recent studies have shifted focus from risk factors and outcomes to the immune responses induced by COVID-19 vaccines affecting the kidneys. This analysis provides insights into collaboration opportunities and the evolving trends in COVID-19-related kidney research, guiding future studies in the field.
