Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an increasingly visible presence in dental education, offering promising tools to support both teaching and clinical preparation. This paper examines how dental students perceive the role of AI in their training, especially in areas such as diagnostics, treatment planning, and personalized learning. Based on a structured survey, the study reveals that most students are already using AI in some form, and many see clear benefits-particularly in simulations, research, and clinical case training. At the same time, there are noticeable gaps in awareness, especially regarding the limitations of AI, such as data quality and standardization issues. While faster diagnostics is viewed as the most valuable advantage, concerns remain about the lack of human involvement and the risk of algorithmic errors. Overall, the findings reflect a cautiously optimistic attitude among students and highlight the importance of better integrating AI-related content into dental education in a way that balances innovation with critical understanding.
