Abstract

Purpose: The study explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance inclusivity and diversity in the workforce. The primary objective is to examine how AI can reduce biases, foster fair hiring practices, and contribute to the creation of dynamic and diverse workplaces. Design, methodology, and approach: Employing a comprehensive approach, the research analyses case studies and draws insights from real-world applications of AI in talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and organizational culture. It also addresses ethical concerns associated with AI-driven decision-making and highlights practical solutions such as bias detection tools and AI-enabled recruitment platforms. Results: The findings reveal that when used responsibly, AI reduces unconscious biases, emphasizes skill-based assessments over demographic characteristics, and supports diversity in recruitment and development. Case studies illustrate how AI has enhanced equity in hiring and reduced wage gaps, fostering a more inclusive workplace environment. Practical implications: Organizations can leverage AI to identify and mitigate biases, streamline recruitment processes, and cultivate inclusive leadership. AI technologies enable businesses to align more effectively with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals by improving employee engagement, tracking diversity metrics, and adapting to evolving workforce needs. Originality/value: This study uniquely bridges the gap between technological advancements and workplace inclusivity. It emphasizes ethical AI deployment and provides actionable strategies for creating equitable and innovative work environments. This work argues for the careful deployment of AI to transform workforce diversity and inclusiveness policies, demonstrating that it is more than simply a tool but a catalyst for systemic change.
