Abstract
In digital healthcare, ethics must be observed to protect patients and sustain faith in medical services. This abstract investigates various ethical challenges related to the use of technology in healthcare provision. As digital technologies continue to redefine how health care is delivered and accessed, stakeholders must grapple with a minefield of privacy issues, fairness in accessibility, data integrity, and responsible application of AI. Privacy and patient data protection stand as one of the primary ethical concerns surrounding digital healthcare. The digitisation of health records and the increase in telemedicine platforms have made it mandatory to protect patient information from unauthorised access and ensure data security. Besides, nobody should downplay the ethical implications of informed consent in digital healthcare. The way that their data will be used and shared must be clearly understood by them, while consent procedures should be clear and reachable. Again, equity and access pose another ethical issue in digital healthcare. Even though technology can help widen accessibility to healthcare services within a place, inequalities in digital literacy skills and internet connectivity may worsen already existing disparities in healthcare. Ensuring that digital healthcare technologies are accessible to all is important in avoiding discrimination against groups of people who are vulnerable. Artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare gives rise to many ethical problems like algorithmic bias, accountability and dehumanisation of patient care. These demands require that ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks change to meet these challenges and ensure that AI-based healthcare solutions prioritise the well-being and safety of patients. The digital interaction between doctors and patients should never violate the principles that demand balancing technology's convenience with patient welfare. Therefore, to develop our understanding of the ethical issues embedded in digital healthcare, all parties involved, such as healthcare providers, policymakers, tech developers, and patients, must be engaged in this case. To achieve that, we must adhere to the highest ethical standards in health care delivery by prioritising patient welfare, transparency, and equity while harnessing the beneficial potentials of digital technologies.
