Abstract
This paper investigates the integration of Generative AI (GenAI), particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), into English language curriculum design at the university level. With the rise of GenAI and computational language modeling, new pedagogical avenues are emerging for enhancing student engagement, personalization, and formative assessment in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction. The study presents a practical case conducted at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, where ChatGPT was introduced as a supplementary tool in English language classrooms. A mixed-method approach was adopted to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from students and instructors. Results indicate that GenAI tools improved linguistic autonomy, critical thinking, and writing fluency. The paper also discusses implementation challenges, ethical considerations, and future implications for human-centered curriculum development..
