Abstract

This study explores the experiences of nursing students and faculty with a pedagogical conversational agent (PCA) designed to support pharmacology instruction in a nursing program in the Philippines. Addressing gaps identified in existing literature, the study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive examination of chatbot functionality in educational contexts. Using a mixed methods design, findings reveal the PCA’s potential to improve accessibility, promote self-directed learning, and serve as an effective supplementary teaching tool. Challenges such as technical limitations and connectivity issues highlight the importance of thoughtful design and contextual adaptation in the integration of PCAs into nursing education.
