Abstract
Introduction: The broad field of artificial intelligence is focused on creating intelligent computers that can carry out tasks that normally call for human intelligence.Aim:The study aims to investigate periodontists’ knowledge, perception, usage, and concerns of AI systems’ applications in periodontology. Methods: Using the keywords "periodontics AND AI," "periodontology AND artificial intelligence," "periodontology AND neural networks," and "AI AND periodontal diseases and periodontal therapy," a thorough search was conducted using databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, MEDLINE, and Embase. Every clinical study, systematic review, and meta-analysis pertinent to the topic was excluded.Only English-language publications were chosen. Following a thorough examination of the abstracts, the papers most pertinent to our subject were selected, while those that were not were excluded. Conclusion: Egyptian periodontists are familiar with AI and its possible applications in periodontology . They support AI's revolutionary role in disease prediction and find its application in diagnosis to be interesting.
