The in-depth-interview technique was most suitable for the study, the population of the study are 50 reporters in the news room, while The diffusion of innovations theory is the main theoretical framework that guided and directed this work. Findings shows that AI is effective, efficient and much more productive and satisfying in terms of job performance and result oriented but the constant use of AI tools would hamper practice as laziness will ensue in terms of job performance and delivery. Thus, the study recommended that reporters and editors must be trained on the effective use of AI tools for reporting and editing functions in the news rooms. It also recommended that news rooms need to be equipped with the latest technology, such as AI compliant tools for effective, efficient and satisfying work performance.
