Abstract
The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into insurance operations has significantly reshaped workplace dynamics, enhanced efficiency, innovation, and customer engagement, yet simultaneously raised critical ethical and psychological concerns. This chapter examines the dual dimensions of human–AI collaboration within the insurance industry, emphasizing ethical considerations such as transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI-driven decision-making processes. It further explores the psychological implications for insurance employees, specifically addressing job satisfaction, stress, anxiety related to job security, and overall mental well-being in AI-intensive work environments. Utilizing interdisciplinary frameworks and empirical analyses, the research underscores the imperative of establishing trust and ethical clarity within AI systems, alongside implementing targeted support mechanisms for employee mental health. Recommendations for actionable ethical guidelines and employee-centric interventions are proposed to facilitate a balanced and sustainable integration of AI, promoting both technological advancement and workforce well-being within the insurance sector.
