Abstract
The very fast adoption of the artificial intelligence into the sphere of the telemedicine opens immense possibilities to enhance the access of the healthcare in the new economies. This study examines the factors of AI-based telemedicine adoption based on the Technology-Organization-Environment framework and evaluates the contribution of change management preparedness. Statistical modeling was used to examine the impact of different factors on adoption with results of a cross-sectional survey of 300 stakeholders, among which are healthcare providers, patients, and policy/technology managers in India. Organizational and environmental factors prove to be important predictors of adoption whereas technological factors are not. Change management preparedness has a favourable impact on adoption yet it does not mediate the technology-organization and environment relationships. Out of these results, it is apparent that the dedication of the leadership, conducive policies, and effective infrastructure counts more than the technological savvy. The study being reviewed can advance the research regarding digital health adoption by integrating change management knowledge and offers empirical advice to different extents of improving organizational and policy capabilities to scale AI-enabled telemedicine.
