Abstract
Adherence to medication is a severe problem among the aging, physically challenged as well as Alzheimer patients who are not able to take medications on their own. The current pill boxes, reminders apps, and static dispensers do not have secure authentication, mobility, and real time availability which results in missed or wrong doses sometimes. The work describes an independent medicine dispensing robot that integrates LiDAR-based SLAM and ROS framework to navigate safely around the location, facial recognition with the help of the TensorFlow Lite to verify patients, and monitor dispensed medications in real-time. A web app based on React Native allows scheduling, alerts and remote monitoring through the cloud. The proposed model can enhance medication adherence, patient safety, and caregiver independence in home healthcare, as it will combine autonomous navigation, identity verification, and intelligent dispensing into a single system.
