Abstract
This Abstract Book compiles the research abstracts submitted to and accepted for the AIMS Meeting 2026 Research Competition, held at the Aula Magna da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal, on 16–19 April 2026. The AIMS Meeting (Annual International (bio)Medical Students' Meeting) is an international congress organised by the Associação de Estudantes da Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa (AEFML) and aimed at biomedical students seeking to present original research, engage with peers from across the world, and develop their scientific competencies. The abstracts collected in this volume span a wide range of biomedical disciplines, including neuroscience, oncology, public health, immunology, cardiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, surgery, and medical artificial intelligence, among others. All submissions were reviewed by the AIMS Meeting 2026 Scientific Committee prior to acceptance. The views, data, and conclusions expressed in each abstract are the sole responsibility of the respective authors.
