Abstract
This paper investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance access to political science literature within library systems, while critically examining the challenges associated with its implementation. Adopting a broad definition of AI that encompasses a range of technologies and practices, the study explores how AI-driven tools such as intelligent search engines, recommendation systems, and open data infrastructures are reshaping the curation, indexing, and dissemination of political knowledge. These technologies offer new opportunities for evidence-based analysis, policy-oriented research, and user engagement, thereby transforming both library science and political science research methodologies. However, the integration of AI also raises significant concerns regarding equity, transparency, and governance. Issues such as algorithmic bias, platform dependency, and unequal access to advanced tools may intensify existing disparities across institutions and regions. Drawing on case studies and current initiatives in Library and Information Science (LIS), the paper highlights practical implications and outlines future research directions for the responsible and expandable deployment of AI in political science libraries. Ultimately, AI is positioned not merely as a technical enhancement, but as a political and epistemological force within the evolving ecosystem of knowledge production.
