A Citespace-based Analysis of Generative AI's Application In Education

Abstract
Drawing on literature retrieved from CNKI, this study employs CiteSpace to visually analyze the educational applications of generative AI from January 2018 to February 2025, examining core authors, institutional collaborations, and keyword co-occurrence and clustering, and the research hot spots and trends. The findings indicate the collaboration between authors and institutions are relatively weak with limited cross-regional cooperation; hot topics include educational innovation, human–machine collaboration, and ethical and governance issues; and future trends are the intelligent evolution of adaptive learning systems, and interdisciplinary intelligent instructional design. This study offers a reference for advancing educational digital transformation.
